Sunday’s national forecast

> From the WeatherWatch archives

High pressure smothers New Zealand right now meaning mostly light winds and mild weather – but there will be a few showers about today and additional cloud.

An east to south east flow over the North Island will bring sunny and warm to hot weather in the upper and western sides of the island but the east will get a few showers around Hawke’s Bay and Gisborne. One or two might get into Wairarapa.

The South Island is dry apart from a couple showers in Fiordland. Winds are light but there may be more cloud in the south, west and east today.
