Rain slowly moves up the West Coast today with some heavy falls and spillover into Southland and Otago. In the North Island there are showers, fairly patchy in the very north and west while eastern areas are mainly dry all day.

Most places have north to north west winds today so daytime highs will be mild and overnight lows will be too.
