Sunday’s national forecast

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Most places are dry today but we do have a couple of rainy areas, mostly in the north and central parts of NZ. Winds are also fairly light today.

NORTH ISLAND:
A few showers across the western and upper North Island today. As the day wears on the showers become mostly confined to Waikato/Auckland northwards and also around Wellington and southern Wairarapa. Large dry areas. Westerly winds.
Highs: 13 to 18

SOUTH ISLAND:
A small and weak area of low pressure hugs the eastern coastline and brings some early patchy rain or showers into the upper half of the South Island, clearing away in the afternoon with most wet weather sliding up to Cook Strait/lower North Island. Light winds in many places, or a light westerly. A cold start inland for some.
Highs: 10 to 16
