Upper North Island

Mostly cloudy skies in the west with a shower or two possible. Winds fairly breezy from the southwest perhaps becoming brisk at times in the afternoon for Auckland. The Bay Of Plenty is looking sunnier, just some cloud at times in the west especially this morning.

Lower North Island

Mostly cloudy in the west, westerlies becoming brisk after midday especially near the coast. The east coast is drier and sunnier with afternoon temperatures perhaps reaching into the mid 20’s.

Upper South Island

Cloudy for the West Coast of the South Island, a few showers at times. Nelson and Marlborough are mainly sunny with a touch of high cloud. Canterbury sees morning cloud break to sunny areas and some high cloud, a shower or two may sneak into coastal Canterbury later in the day up to about Banks Peninsula. Winds about Canterbury tending northwesterly for most however northeast right on the coast. A southerly change (mainly coastal) moves through in the evening.

Lower South Island

Southland and Coastal Otago are mainly cloudy with showers at times, expect brisk cool southwesterly winds. Inland Otago is looking a bit drier with perhaps some sun now and then, winds not as strong either.
