Upper North Island

A mostly sunny day with light winds for most, chance of a mist or fog patch morning and night for inland areas otherwise frosty and crisp.

Lower North Island

Mainly sunny weather with light winds, north to northwest winds for Wellington. A few morning showers for Hawkes Bay and Gisborne then clearing to a mostly sunny afternoon with easing southerly winds.

Upper South Island

Mainly sunny weather, light westerlies along the West Coast. Light northerlies in the afternoon for Nelson. Light winds about Marlborough and Canterbury tend west to northwest inland, near the coast expect light east to northeast winds in the afternoon.

Lower South Island

Mainly sunny weather for Southland and Otago, west to northwest breezes. Mainly sunny for South Westland however expect some cloud towards evening with a drizzle patch or two moving into Fiordland.
