Upper North Island

Periods of cloud and some sun, the odd shower possible mainly for northern parts of Auckland northwards. Winds from the east or southeast.

Lower North Island

Mostly sunny in the west and about Wellington with south to southeasterly winds. Along the east coast mainly cloudy skies can be expected with the odd drizzle patch about, winds from the east or northeast.

Upper South Island

Any morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, onshore winds in the afternoon. East to northeast winds becoming particularly breezy along the east coast in the afternoon. Late afternoon / evening inland there is the chance of an isolated shower or two.

Lower South Island

Mostly sunny weather, some morning cloud in the east breaks away. Winds are light for most tending onshore in the afternoon.
