Upper North Island

Areas of cloud with the odd isolated shower about, winds light this morning. This afternoon cloud building with showers becoming heavy for some, possible thunderstorms developing also then easing later this evening. Winds tend east to northeast after midday.

Lower North Island

Any morning cloud breaking to mostly sunny weather, south to southeasterly winds. Along the east coast skies are fairly cloudy for much of the day with a few showers about Hawkes Bay and Gisborne easing in the afternoon and clearing by evening, winds from the east.

Upper South Island

Any morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, east to northeasterly winds for most however tending westerly along the West Coast.

Lower South Island

Any morning cloud in the east breaking to mostly sunny weather, south to southwesterly winds tend easterly during the afternoon. In the west skies are mostly sunny with westerly quarter winds.
