Upper North Island

Mostly cloudy skies especially in the west with the chance of a shower or two, some sun breaking through this afternoon. The Bay Of Plenty is likely to remain mainly dry with sunny areas more frequent during the day. Winds breezy from the west or southwest.

Lower North Island

Cloudy areas in the west with breezy westerly winds, chance of the odd shower about especially this morning. Winds tending southeast in the evening with cloud starting to break away. Wellington is mostly sunny this morning, southerlies freshen this afternoon with some cloud. Mostly sunny weather along the east coast, south to southwesterly winds pick up during the afternoon bringing in some cloud, a chance of some drizzle about the Wairarapa as cloud moves in.

Upper South Island

Cloudy on the West Coast and about Nelson this morning, the odd shower mainly in the west then clearing this afternoon with sun breaking through, winds from the southwest. Marlborough is mostly sunny, southerly winds develop this afternoon bringing some gradually increasing cloud. Some sun first thing this morning about Canterbury then southerly winds freshening bringing mostly cloudy skies.

Lower South Island

Showers on the West Coast south of the Glaciers clear this morning then sunny areas develop, southwest winds. Cloudy areas and the odd shower about Southland for much of the day, clearing by evening. Otago sees cloudy areas today, mainly dry but the odd shower is possible. Gusty west to southwest winds ease later in the day.
