Mostly sunny in the east, perhaps a touch of high cloud. Winds northeasterly for most, light winds for inland areas. Around Mid and South Canterbury cloud thickens up a little. The West Coast sees mostly cloudy skies with the odd patchy light shower today.

Lower South Island

Mostly cloudy skies, the odd spot of rain about Otago and Southland this afternoon. Winds from the northwest for most tending northeasterly about coastal Otago. Cloudy in the west with the odd light shower about.
