Upper North Island

Periods of cloud and occasional sunny spells, the odd shower about the Coromandel this morning then possibly spreading elsewhere for a time this afternoon. Easterly quarter winds.

Lower North Island

Mostly sunny with north to northeasterly winds.

Upper South Island

Mostly sunny with northwesterly winds for most, northeasterlies run along the eastern coastline however. Some high cloud about.

Lower South Island

Plenty of high cloud with north to northeasterly winds, cloudier skies overall for the West Coast south of Hokitika, patchy showers for Fiordland. The odd spot of rain spreading into Southland and Central Otago this afternoon then into coastal Otago by evening.
