Upper North Island

Cloudy periods with breezy southwesterlies, the odd brief shower at times especially in the west. There may be a few sunny areas now and then also, especially about the Bay Of Plenty and regions further east.

Lower North Island

Morning cloud and a few showers, mainly in the west then clearing with sunny areas in the afternoon. Gusty southwesterly winds gradually ease during the day. A few morning showers clear about Wellington then sunny areas develop, westerlies tend southerly this afternoon.

Upper South Island

Mostly sunny about Nelson and Marlborough, southwesterly winds. Canterbury sees morning showers clear then sunny areas develop this afternoon with gusty southwesterlies easing. On the West Coast expect periods of cloud and the odd shower, mainly this morning but a few may continue into the afternoon. Southwesterlies ease during the day.

Lower South Island

Morning cloud breaks to sunny areas, cool southwesterly winds gradually ease during the day.
