Upper North Island

Morning cloud may break to afternoon sunny areas for some, gentle weather breezes. Low risk of a light shower out west. The Bay Of Plenty has a mainly sunny day.

Lower North Island

Periods of cloud at times in the west with sunny areas too, especially afternoon. Low risk of a shower for some western regions mainly Taranaki this morning. Westerly winds. Sunny for the east coast with light northeasterlies. Wellington sees a mainly sunny day with north to northwesterly winds.

Upper South Island

Sunny for Nelson and along the east coast, light winds in the morning then afternoon east to northeast winds. Cloudy periods along the West Coast with westerly winds. Northwesterlies build about inland eastern areas during the day.

Lower South Island

Mostly sunny about Otago and Southland with some high cloud, west to northwest winds for most although coastal Otago may see east to northeast winds. Cloudy on the West Coast with showers moving into Fiordland later in the day.
