Upper North Island

Mostly sunny weather with light winds and afternoon sea breezes. Chance of isolated showers late afternoon / evening about southern parts of Auckland, the Waikato, Central North Island and Bay Of Plenty (especially inland). Showers could be heavy then clearing later in the day.

Lower North Island

Sunny areas and some high cloud, light winds for most and afternoon sea breezes. Wellington sees breezy north to northwesterly winds.

Upper South Island

Sunny areas and some high cloud, northwesterly winds for most breezy about inland areas. Northeasterly winds for the Canterbury coastline don’t tend northwest till evening. About Marlborough and inland Cantebury the weather will be hot with high’s possibly in the 30’s.

Lower South Island

Gusty northwesterlies develop for Southland and many inland areas during the morning, sunny areas and high cloud. Northeasterly winds right on the Otago coastline don’t tend northwest till evening. The West Coast has areas of high cloud and northwesterly winds, cloud thickens in the evening with some late drizzle for Fiordland.

Wow.  31C in Ashburton with a humidity of only 12% at 12:30pm!  That is dry, drought causing weather.
