Upper North Island

Showers ease during the day with sunny spells sneaking through at times, brisk to strong southwesterlies ease later in the day. Showers may clear then likes of the Waikato and Bay Of Plenty by midday.

Lower North Island

Rain with south to southwesterly winds, rain clears later in the day. About Hawkes Bay showers push in during the morning with southerlies, expect dry weather at first with sunny areas in Gisborne then southerlies freshen in the afternoon bringing showers.

Upper South Island

Any morning showers clear (mainly about Nelson and Marlborough) then sunny with light south to southwesterly winds.

Lower South Island

Cloudy areas about Southland and up the east coast to about Otago Peninsula with a few showers, light winds tend westerly or northwest. Sunny areas breaking through further north with light winds.
