Upper North Island

Early morning rain eases to the odd shower, showers pick up a little in the evening. Southerlies tend
southwest this morning.

Lower North Island

In the west expect cloudy spells with southeasterly winds, tending southwesterly by evening. Chance of a shower at times otherwise dry. Cloudy periods about Wellington with southerly winds, the odd shower. Showers along the east coast with southerlies tending southwest in
the afternoon.

Upper South Island

Sunny in Nelson, Marlborough and along the West Coast through to Hokitika with light winds. Canterbury can expect cloudy spells with morning rain south of Banks Peninsula easing to the odd
shower (some snow to 600, possibly 500m at times), southwesterlies freshen
overnight with showers becoming widespread with snow flurries lowering to 300m
by dawn on Monday.

Lower South Island

Sunny with light winds south of Hokitika, southeasterlies pick up later in the evening. Showers and snow
flurries to 600m clear this morning about Otago with cool southwesterlies,
showers move in again later in the evening with snow to 300m as winds freshen.
Sunny spells about Southland with light southwesterlies, winds becoming brisk in
the evening with showers, snow to 300m and a risk of hail moving in.
