Upper North Island

Mostly sunny with light winds tending northerly
in the afternoon, some cloud at times mainly along the west coast then increasing for most areas later in the evening / overnight.

Lower North Island

Mostly sunny with light northerlies, some high cloud developing from afternoon in the west then thickening later in the evening / overnight. Light winds along the east coast all day with sunny skies. Wellington sees sunny
spells at first however cloud does increase by midday, northerly winds increase
during the day too.

Upper South Island

Mostly sunny with areas of high cloud increasing during the day, north to northeasterly winds gradually
freshening. Becoming cloudy on the West Coast in the morning with drizzle from
late afternoon then rain later in the evening / overnight.

Lower South Island

High cloud thickens from morning in the east and about Southland
with north to northeasterly winds freshening. Cloudy on the West Coast with
increasing northeasterlies, drizzle by midday then evening rain.
