Upper North Island

Mostly cloudy skies with breezy northeasterly winds, the odd shower in the east from Bay Of Plenty through up into Northland. About the Auckland CBD and southwards into western Waikato conditions may remain mostly dry. Late afternoon showers become more widespread about Northland then spreading into Auckland in the evening, rain overnight possibly heavy for most.

Lower North Island

Mostly cloudy in the west with light northeasterlies, the odd light shower possible about Wellington and Taranaki
during the day then in the evening showers become more likely. Overnight showers
spread to most areas and rain pushes into Taranaki and Wellington. For the east
coast expect mainly dry weather with high cloud and light winds, cloud thickens
in the evening.

Upper South Island

Cloudy with patchy showers, east to southeast winds. Rain for Nelson with heavy falls possible, rain
becoming more widespread in the evening and heavy at times overnight for most.
Along the West Coast areas of heavier rain can be expected north of about
Hokitika with patchy falls further south.

Lower South Island

High cloud along the West Coast with southeasterlies increasing during the day, the
odd shower at times north of Haast. Mostly cloudy elsewhere with southeasterly
winds building, drizzle moves into coastal Otago during the evening.
