Upper North Island

Northwesterlies and increasing cloud, a few showers from about midday onwards as winds change westerly.
Showers in the afternoon may be heavy with thunderstorms for some then easing evening.

Lower North Island

Showers developing in the west towards midday, northwesterly winds change westerly this afternoon. Showers gradually clear in the evening. For the
east coast expect mostly sunny weather with northwesterly breezes, some high
cloud.

Upper South Island

Morning rain in the west eases to showers as northwesterly winds change southwest. Light winds on the east coast
tending northwest at times, some high cloud clearing during the morning. Later
in the evening or around midnight winds tend southwest about
Canterbury.

Lower South Island

Morning rain in the west eases to showers as northwesterly winds change
southwest. Light winds on the east coast tending northwest at times in the
morning, an afternoon southerly change brings increasing cloud and a few
showers. For Southland expect morning northwesterlies and high cloud, a PM
southwest change brings showers.
