A northeast windflow is currently dominating the skies above New Zealand, bringing humidity and cloud cover to the North Island in particular, but not much in the way of wind…

Our proximity to the tropics and this approaching airflow means many kiwis will likely find the next couple of evenings tough conditions for sleeping – particularly in the north.

The West Coast is looking at showers and possible steady rain today, with some of that action making its way over the ranges into the inland South Island too.

Northland is another area that may see some shower activity, though it’s looking isolated and short-lived.
