Summer heat hits South Island: 27 degrees recorded

WeatherWatch is reporting that summer heat has returned to the South Island with the nation’s high of 27 degrees being recorded at Lyttelton, near Christchurch.

Christchurch reached 26 along with Timaru, while Gisborne, Napier, Blenheim and Oamaru all had 25.
