Summer comes early for the South Island

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Summer appears to have come early for Marlborough residents, who will spend today lapping up temperatures well into the 20s.

Fine spells are on the radar for many parts of the country this week.

WeatherWatch.co.nz forecaster Aaron Wilkinson say those lucky enough to be graced with the warm conditions should enjoy them while they last.

He says Canterbury will be especially warm on Thursday and Friday, as temperatures sky-rocket once more.

But Aaron Wilkinson says the forecast for Christchurch this weekend paints a different picture – it’s looking mostly cloudy with the odd shower, northeasterly winds and a high of just 16 degrees.
