It’s a beautiful Saturday morning across most main centres across New Zealand (and for many people in between!).
As high pressure finally moves in after a windy week or two for many, this morning people have woken in many towns and farms to sunny or mostly sunny weather and light winds.
Out of the seven top main centres we provide detailed forecasts for it is only Tauranga seeing mostly cloudy skies this morning – thanks to rain falling further out to sea. As Saturday wears on the sun will increase in the Bay of Plenty.
In Auckland cloudy skies recently have finally given way to a spectacular spring day with Mostly Sunny conditions.
A few cloudy spells are about Canterbury and Otago too, otherwise mostly light winds and mild today for Dunedin and Christchurch.
The rain that is falling out to sea from Bay of Plenty is brushing north eastern Coromandel Peninsula, also East Cape, and Gisborne.
With that disturbance in the north east it is possible a few isolated showers may pop up here and there across northern areas – otherwise dry.
Wellington will be mostly sunny today.
The forecast for next week sees high pressure dominating – and most centres have a much drier, calmer, and warmer week on the way… just in time for the kids to head back to school.
