We have a lot to cover in our special weekend video covering not only the latest on Super Typhoon Mangkhut and Hurricane Florence but also the warm, windy, spring weather for New Zealand.
The windy change for NZ – which kicks in properly on Sunday – will see temperatures boosted in both islands by several degrees above normal for this time of the year. It will also be mainly dry this week but rain arrives on Sunday on the West Coast and heads further north on Monday and Tuesday – but it’s patchy and broken up.
Overseas and Hurricane Florence will make landfall within the next day, as will Mangkhut. Florence is looking like a major rain event while Mangkhut, being much bigger and much more intense, looks to be the full package with major storm surge, destructive winds and Category 5 equivalent strength
