Special Video: Extensive update on Antarctic blast + mild weather returns soon

> From the WeatherWatch archives

The big storm south of NZ is peaking in power today and we have a special video covering extra details like snow totals in Southland and Otago, rainfall totals and nationwide wind chills.

The storm is a serious one but not all regions are exposed to severe weather – some in the north of NZ just have some windy weather and showers.

We track the storm as it peaks and then departs mid-week. After it – mild winds return with a windy but mild weekend likely for the first weekend of October.
