Snow falls in the south, temps drop – your reports

It’s bitterly cold across some parts of the lower South Island as we move through the second half of Friday. 

As predicted by WeatherWatch.co.nz Invercrgill has hovered in the single digits today dropping from 7 in the morning to 4 degrees at 3pm. 

Snow is falling on some South Island ranges while hail and thunderstorms have rumbled up the West Coast.

Just been out with the dog – and it’s snowing. Not heavily. But definite flakes! 11:30pm, Friday night!

2250hrs, Sleet showers are now falling as snow in Invercargill. Temp 1.8c falling.
