Slips across North Island, plus heavy showers around Auckland again?

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Motorists on North Island highways need to be on the watch for weather-related hazards today.

Between New Plymouth and Oakura on State Highway 45 there is a large slip blocking one lane.

On the East Coast, a slip across part of SH35 between Tokomaru Bay and Tologa Bay is also causing problems. Caution is also needed because of conditions on the stretch of SH35 between Tikitiki and Ruatoria.

There is superficial flooding on SH3 between Ohaupo and Te Awamutu.

Meanwhile the sun has returned to Auckland quickly drying things out.  However ominous cloud build ups are likely to create slow moving heavy afternoon heat showers.

As of 11am there were large showers developing around the Bombays.

WeatherWatch.co.nz will watch the showers closely and bring any news to you as soon as it happens.

Large slow moving fronts to the West and East of us(heading North) look to be delivering rain. Clear skies and sunshine over New Lynn 🙂
