Showers march north

Showers will this afternoon continue to spread northwards across western and northern parts of New Zealand.

As off 11:30am showers, some heavy, were moving in to King Country, South Waikato and Central Plateau.

In to the afternoon showers will spread into Auckland and Northland, one or two isolated showers may be briefly heavy. 

The showers are likely to ease off overnight and Friday looks mainly dry for much of the North Island (and South Island) with just a few isolated showers possibke.

On Saturday showers will again spread up the west coast of New Zealand with rain, possibly heavy, around Mt Taranaki for a time.
