WeatherWatch.co.nz is tonight warning motorists to drive with extreme care on the Napier Taupo Highway.
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has again been issued for the region – specifically Rangitaiki.
WeatherWatch.co.nz believes hail, severe winds and torrential rain could hit motorists with little warning in the coming hour in the area – affecting State Highway 5.
Unfortunately MetService don’t allow the media free access to live rain radar images, even during severe weather events, so WeatherWatch.co.nz can’t give you the exact location except to say that it’s near SH5.

This is truly sad that you can not get rain radar images, expecily when we can get up to date images of Australia on the net !!!! The only rain radar images of NZ that I can find is Sky TV.
