Wet for most of the North Island today with a low approaching from the NW. Most of the South Island is mainly dry thanks to a ridge of high pressure, perhaps a shower at either end.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Rain, northerlies tend northeast by evening. A little humid.
Highs: 18 – 20

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Cloudy but dry, rain pushes down from the north after midday as southeasterlies tend northeast.
Highs: 15 – 18

Eastern North Island

Cloudy with rain, spreading south into Wairarapa in the afternoon. Southerlies tend easterly after midday.
Highs: 17 – 20

Wellington

Mostly cloudy, some rain late afternoon as southeasterlies tend easterly.
High: 17 – 19

Marlborough & Nelson

Mostly cloudy, showers possible later in the day. Southeasterlies for Marlborough, northerlies for Nelson.
Highs: 17 – 19

Canterbury

Mostly sunny, a few clouds north of Banks Peninsula spread south in the afternoon. East to northeasterly winds freshen.
Highs: 15 – 20

West Coast

Sunny spells with southwesterlies, showers for southern Fiordland and northern Buller from late afternoon.
Highs: 15 – 20

Southland & Otago
Sunny spells and thickening cloud, a few spits or showers late afternoon / evening as northwesterlies change westerly. Northeasterlies for coastal Otago.
Highs: 16 – 20
