A northerly airflow continues over the country today with very warm temperatures likely again, especially in the east. Showers for the West Coast, some instability this afternoon about Buller and some central North Island areas.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Morning low cloud or fog possible then sunny spells, chance of an afternoon isolated shower about inland Waikato / BOP otherwise mainly dry. North to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 23-27

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
A mix of sun and cloud, isolated showers develop in the afternoon especially about the Central North Island, possibly heavy with thunder then easing later. Light winds.
Highs: 24-27

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny, a few isolated showers possible about the ranges late afternoon / evening. East to northeasterly winds from midday.
Highs: 27-30

Wellington

Partly cloudy, northerly winds.
Highs: 23-27

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny for Marlborough, Nelson has partly cloudy skies with a shower or two passing over from the west. North to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 25-30

Canterbury

Sunny and hot, northerly winds inland. Afternoon east to northeast breezes closer to the coast.
Highs: 26-33

West Coast

Cloudy areas with showers, more so from afternoon. Heavy rain moves into South Westland overnight. Afternoon showers about Buller may be heavy with thunder then easing later. Northeasterly winds.
Highs: 24-27


Southland & Otago
Mostly sunny and hot, northerly winds inland, east to northeast winds about coastal parts.
Highs: 28-33
