Saturday’s national forecast – Showers continues eastern North Island

High pressure lies over the South Island today meanwhile further north expect a southerly airflow with showers continuing in the east.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Mostly sunny with southwesterly winds, a mix of sun and cloud for Northland especially in the west with the odd shower.
Highs: 21-25

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
A mix of sun and cloud with southerly winds.
Highs: 15-21

Eastern North Island

Quite cloudy although some sun may break through especially in the afternoon. A few showers also mainly morning then again overnight. Fresh gusty southwesterlies.
Highs: 18-20

Wellington

A mix of sun and cloud, breezy to fresh southerly winds.
Highs: 17-19

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny with southerly quarter winds, afternoon northerlies for Nelson. Some cloud for Tasman.
Highs: 17

Canterbury

Sunny with a touch of high cloud, some lower level cloud may thicken later in the day near the coast. Light winds tend to the south or southeast.
Highs: 18-21

West Coast

Sunny with a touch of high cloud possible, some cloud thickens later in the day for Buller. Light winds.
Highs: 22-25

Southland & Otago
Quite a bit of cloud and a few light showers for Southland but sunny spells start to break through from afternoon. Central Otago is sunnier overall with some evening cloud. Coastal Otago is a little different again with some morning sun then afternoon cloud. West to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 17-22
