Conditions are mostly settled around the country thanks to high pressure, but settled doesn’t neccaserily mean cloud free and there is a bit of cloud about today. The eastern North Island has a front flicking past bringing the risk of a shower.
Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
A few showers for Auckland push into Northland during the afternoon as southwesterlies change southeast. Sun increasing once showers clear. Waiakto and Bay Of Plenty have a mainly sunny day, early morning cloud clears Waikato.
Highs: 15 – 17
Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly sunny, a few clouds about, especially towards the eastern ranges. Southeasterly winds.
Highs: 8 – 15
Eastern North Island
Cloud and a few showers for Wairarapa push northwards early afternoon as southwesterlies freshen, cloud may break later in the day.
Highs: 11 – 14
Wellington
Mostly cloudy, chance of a shower mainly in the morning. Fresh southeasterlies ease later in the day.
Highs: 10 – 11
Marlborough & Nelson
Mostly cloudy for Marlborough with southeasterlies, Nelson has morning sun then cloud developing in the afternoon with winds tending to the north.
Highs: 10 – 13
Canterbury
Mostly cloudy although some sun may break through from afternoon, a few light morning showers clear. Southerlies tend northeast around midday.
Highs: 9 – 11
West CoastSunny areas and thickening cloud, a few showers from afternoon north of Westport then overnight for Fiordland. Light winds.
Highs: 11 – 14
Southland & Otago
A mix of sun and cloud, Otago may be a bit cloudier. Light north to northeasterly winds for most, coastal Otago has breezier winds.
