High pressure lies over New Zealand today bringing mainly settled weather and light winds. There will be some high cloud about though especially for the South Island.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Morning cloud then mostly sunny, light westerly quarter winds however a sea breeze develops in the afternoon for Bay Of Plenty up through to eastern Northland.
Highs: 17-18
Western North Island (including Central North Island)
A mix of sun and cloud, Kapiti may see a light shower or two. Elsewhere may see a light shower also but mainly in the morning. Northwesterly winds.
Highs: 13-16
Eastern North Island
Sunny, Wairarapa may see some cloud. Light winds tend east to northeast in the afternoon for Hawkes Bay and Gisborne.
Highs: 17-19
Wellington
Areas of cloud, occasional sun. Breezy north to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 15
Marlborough & Nelson
Mostly sunny, some high cloud. Light winds tend onshore in the afternoon.
Highs: 17-20
Canterbury
Sunny areas and some high cloud. Light winds tend east to northeast in the afternoon.
Highs: 17-18
West Coast
Cloudy areas, chance of a shower otherwise mainly dry. Winds tend to the north about Fiordland, west to southwest elsewhere.

Southland & Otago
Cloudy areas for Southland, chance of a shower or two. Otago has high cloud, perhaps some mid level cloud from afternoon. West to northwesterly winds.
