A high pressure system moves over New Zealand today bringing mainly settled weather.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
A few morning showers clear then sunny areas increase, southwesterlies tend to the northeast in the afternoon. Overnight a few showers push back into Coromandel and Auckland.
Highs: 16-17

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Any early cloud clears then sunny, light easterly winds.
Highs: 10-16

Eastern North Island

Morning showers clear then sun increases from afternoon, north of Napier there could be a few showers linger till evening then clearing. Southwesterlies die out in the evening.
Highs: 13-15

Wellington

Any early cloud clears then sunny with light southerlies tending to the north in the afternoon.
Highs: 13-14

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny, light afternoon northerlies.
Highs: 13-14

Canterbury

Sunny, a touch of high cloud from afternoon. Northeasterly winds.
Highs: 8-13

West Coast

A mix of sun and cloud, a few showers for Buller then elsewhere about the coastal fringe later in the evening or overnight. Light winds tend northeast in the afternoon.
Highs: 12-15

Southland & Otago
Sun and some high cloud, light north to northwesterly winds. Afternoon northeasterlies for coastal Otago.
Highs: 10-13
