A high in the Tasman Sea nudges a ridge over New Zealand today meaning the weather is for the most part settled, we still have a few showers for the North Island though and perhaps one or two about the far south thanks to a warm front brushing past.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
A mix of sun and cloud with southeasterlies then afternoon sea breezes, the odd isolated shower possible for Coromandel then Auckland in the afternoon, elsewhere in the evening.
Highs: 19-21

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Morning cloud breaks away then sunny, southeasterly winds tend southerly in the afternoon, dying out in the evening.
Highs: 14-20

Eastern North Island

Cloudy periods with a few showers, mostly in the morning then drying out, sun may start to break through from afternoon. South to southwesterly winds die out at night.
Highs: 16-18

Wellington

Any morning showers clear then sunny spells develop from afternoon with easing southerly winds.
Highs: 15-17

Marlborough & Nelson

Morning cloud, chance of a shower for Marlborough then sunny spells develop in the afternoon. Southerlies tend onshore after midday.
Highs: 15-16

Canterbury

Morning cloud, perhaps a light shower then breaking to sun, southwesterlies tend east to northeast in the afternoon.
Highs: 15-17

West Coast

Mostly sunny but expect some cloud, especially about the ranges. Light winds.
Highs: 17-18

Southland & Otago
Cloudy areas with the risk of a shower around midday for Southland, Otago has partly cloudy skies. Westerly winds, perhaps tending a little more southwest in the afternoon.
Highs: 15-20
