A front pushes over New Zealand this morning moving in a west to east fashion, heavy rain in the west eases to showers.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Rain eases to showers in the morning for Northland then elsewhere during the afternoon as breezy northeasterlies change northwest. Sun may start to break through.
Highs: 18-20

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Rain for Taranaki spreads elsewhere during the morning, easing to showers in the afternoon as northerlies tend northwest thanks to a front passing over. Winds gusty about the coast but easing a touch after front moves through.
Highs: 15-20

Eastern North Island

High cloud, a few spots of rain around midday as a front passes over then breaking to sun in the afternoon. Wairarapa sees rain continue at times though. Northerly winds.
Highs: 20-22

Wellington

Rain eases to showers in the afternoon, strong north to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 16-17

Marlborough & Nelson

Heavy rain eases to showers around midday, only a few spots left by evening, eastern Marlborough may dry out. Gusty north to northwesterly winds ease.
Highs: 16-20

Canterbury

Heavy rain in the high country eases and clears during the afternoon, partly cloudy skies elsewhere with the chance of an overnight shower. Northerlies tend southwest near the coast for a time.
Highs: 14-20

West Coast

Heavy rain in the morning eases to showers, rain moves back into Fiordland during the afternoon. Breezy northerlies ease.
Highs: 13-16

Southland & Otago
Morning rain or showers clear then some sun breaks through, In the evening rain moves back into Southland. Light winds.
Highs: 13-15
