Saturday’s national forecast – Few showers in the west

A west to southwesterly airflow continues to lie over the country today, expect a few showers in the west and mainly dry weather in the east.

North Island

A mix of sun and cloud in the west, cloud may be thicker morning and night, expect the odd shower here and there but plenty of dry spells too. Westerlies south of Taranaki, southwest further north. In the east today conditions are mainly sunny and warm with westerly quarter winds, north of Napier there is a few showers this morning though but they should clear around midday.

South Island

Some cloud for the West Coast today with the odd shower, Fiordland sees rain later this evening / overnight as a front moves in. Good weather in the east with sun and warm temperatures but there may be high cloud also, winds from the north or northwest.
