Morning sunny spells possible, the odd shower, quite humid. Showers becoming more widespread and heavy in the afternoon with thunderstorms possible, a few torrential downpours may develop then easing at night. Northerly winds.

The odd shower, perhaps a few morning sunny spells. Rain becomes widespread in the afternoon with a few heavy falls and maybe some thunder, easing at night. Northerly winds.

Eastern North Island

High cloud and some sun, rain spreads into Wairarapa early afternoon then further northwards to about Napier late afternoon, Gisborne may see a spit or two in the evening. North to northeasterly winds.

Wellington

The odd shower turns to rain around midday, clearing overnight. Gusty north to northwesterly winds.

Marlborough & Nelson

Rain for Nelson spreads into Marlborough during this morning, clearing in the evening. Rain may be heavy for Nelson and the Sounds. North to northwesterly winds.

Canterbury

A mix of sun and cloud, a few showers develop about South Canterbury in the afternoon, reaching to about Banks Peninsula by evening as light winds change southwest. A small chance showers may be heavy for inland areas with the risk of an isolated thunderstorm. Showers clear at night.

West Coast

Early rain eases to showers, sunny spells breaks through at times. North to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 19-21

Southland & Otago
Morning fog possible then mostly sunny, showers develop in the afternoon, some cloud be heavy with thunderstorms (mainly inland) then clearing at night. Light winds tend onshore in the afternoon.
