Mainly anticyclonic over New Zealand today with a light northerly quarter airflow draped over the country.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Mostly sunny about Northland and Auckland, Northland may see an isolated shower late afternoon / evening. The Waikato sees a mix of sun and cloud, risk of an isolated shower late afternoon / evening. The Bay Of Plenty sees a few showers, mainly morning then dry areas with some sun possible from afternoon. Light winds then afternoon sea breezes.

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly sunny with some high cloud, some mid level cloud more frequent about some hills and ranges. Light winds tend onshore in the afternoon.
Highs: 21-24

Eastern North Island
Any morning cloud breaks then mostly sunny with some high cloud. East to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 20-22

Wellington
Morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, light northerlies.
High: 21

Marlborough & Nelson
Morning cloud then mostly sunny with some high cloud, northeasterly winds for Marlborough, afternoon northerlies for Nelson.
Highs: 22-24

Canterbury
Morning cloud or fog then sunny spells, east to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 20-23

West Coast
Morning cloud breaks to sunny spells and high cloud, light winds tend westerly in the afternoon.
Highs: 20-25

Southland & Otago
Morning cloud or fog breaks to sunny areas and some high cloud. Light winds for most.
Highs: 20-26
