A weakening front moves northwards over the upper South Island and then the North Island during today bringing a few patchy showers

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
A mix of sun and cloud, the Waikato and Bay Of Plenty has mostly sunny weather. Southwesterly winds.
Highs: 23-25

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Cloud thickens in the morning then a few light showers develop in the afternoon as northwesterlies change to the south or southwest. Showers clear in the evening as winds tend more southeast.
Highs: 18-21

Eastern North Island
Mostly sunny weather, a south to southeast change moves into the Wairarapa early afternoon bringing a few light showers or drizzle. This cool change moves into Hawkes Bay and Gisborne in the evening.
Highs: 20-26

Wellington
Morning sun then late morning southeasterly winds bring some cloud and the chance of a patchy shower.
High: 18

Marlborough & Nelson
Morning high cloud, an east to southeast change around midday bring the chance of a light shower or two.
Highs: 19-21

Canterbury
Morning showers or drizzle, becoming mainly dry in the afternoon although a drizzle patch or two may linger about parts of North Canterbury till evening. Skies are mostly cloudy although cloud may break away about South Canterbury late afternoon and elsewhere later in the evening / overnight. Cool southerlies tend northeast in the evening.

West Coast
Any morning showers clear then expect mostly sunny weather with southwesterly winds.
Highs: 15-19

Southland & Otago
A few morning showers about Southland then expect a mix of sun and cloud, Otago has mostly sunny weather after any early cloud breaks away. West to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 14-17
