North Island

Cloud and the chance of a shower for western parts of the North Island then drying out in the afternoon with sunny spells breaking through, winds breezy from the west or southwest. A mainly sunny day on the east coast.

South Island

Cloud thickening for the West Coast of the South Island after midday, risk of a shower which increases in the afternoon. Winds from the southwest.

A few showers move into Southland and Otago during the morning, clearing in the evening with southwesterly winds. Canterbury sees some high cloud, showers late afternoon or evening some of which may be heavy for a time before clearing overnight. Nelson and Marlborough are mainly dry and sunny, some high cloud from afternoon.
