A southwesterly airflow eases over New Zealand today while a ridge of high pressure moves in. Mainly settled conditions.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Any early showers clear, a few sunny spells break through in the afternoon although it may remain fairly cloudy for some. Westerly breezes.
Highs: 16-19

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Sunny spells, a few morning showers clear. Breezy westerly winds, dying away in the evening.
Highs: 15-16

Eastern North Island

Any early showers clear then mostly sunny, west to southwesterly breezes die out in the evening.
Highs: 19-20

Wellington

Becoming mostly sunny in the morning, northwesterly winds tend southerly around midday.
High: 15

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny with westerly winds dying away early afternoon, there may be some early clearing cloud about Nelson.
Highs: 16-18

Canterbury

Sunny with light winds tending southerly around midday then northeast later in the evening.
High: 15

West Coast

Becoming sunny in the morning, perhaps a few early clearing showers. Southwesterly breezes. High cloud then increases from evening with northeasterlies freshening.
Highs: 13-14

Southland & Otago

A few morning showers clear about Southland and the Catlins, mostly sunny otherwise with easing west to southwesterly winds. Northeasterlies pick up from evening with high cloud.
Highs: 12-13
