Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Mostly cloudy for Northland and Auckland, rain moves into the far north of Northland during the morning then slowly spreads southwards to encompass most of Northland by later in the evening. Rain spreads into Auckland, the Coromandel and perhaps parts of Waikato / Bay Of Plenty by dawn on Sunday. For the Waikato and Bay Of Plenty during the day expect sunny areas and increasing high cloud which thickens and lowers in the evening. Easterly winds for most, gusty about the far north.

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mainly sunny in the morning south of Taranaki and about the Central North Island, then expect some cloud drifting in from afternoon. Taranaki itself sees mostly cloudy skies from morning with the odd light shower possible at times. Light winds.
Highs: 17-20
Eastern North Island
Sunny with some high cloud later in the day, light east to northeat winds.
Highs: 20-21
Wellington
Sunny with north to northwesterly winds, becoming breezy from afternoon.
High: 18
Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny with light winds in the morning, afternoon north to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 19-22
Canterbury
Mainly sunny with light east to northeasterly winds on the coast, light north to northwest winds inland.
Highs: 20-22
West Coast
Areas of cloud with the odd shower possible at times, especially cloudy for South Westland. Expect showers for Fiordland turning to rain there overnight.
Highs: 16-17
Southland & Otago
Sunny areas and increasing high cloud, some rain later in the evening or overnight as breezy northwest winds change southwest.
Highs: 17-21
