High pressure brings mainly settled weather to the South Island today while the North Island sits under an easterly quarter airflow. Fairly sunny about the North Island today also although there may be a shower or two crop up for some late afternoon / evening.

Auckland & Northland
Sunny areas and some cloud with easterly winds, a few isolated showers possible from afternoon. Showers fairly hit and miss so some may remain dry.
Highs: 26-27

Central North Island, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Sunny areas and some cloud about, clouds builds a little from afternoon. A
few isolated showers possible late afternoon / evening.
High: 24-27

Western North Island

Cloudy areas especially this morning then sunny spells developing PM, light
winds at first then southeasterlies pick up by midday. Taranaki is mostly sunny
during the day with any morning cloud clearing.
Highs: 23-25

Eastern North Island

A fairly cloudy morning may bring a few showers, mainly near the coast,
winds from the south. In the afternoon sunny areas break through with winds
tending northeast, the odd isolated shower possible about the ranges late
afternoon / evening.
Highs: 22-24

Wellington

Any morning showers clear, mostly cloudy with southerly winds easing later
in the day. Cloud may break a little late afternoon / evening to reveal a few
sunny spells otherwise remaining fairly cloudy.
High: 18

Marlborough & Nelson

Morning cloud breaks to a mostly sunny afternoon, there may be a light
shower or two first thing about southern parts of Marlborough. East to northeast
winds pick up a little from midday.
Highs: 20-21

Canterbury

A cloudy morning, some drizzle possible especially inland which clears.
Sunny areas increase in the afternoon with winds swinging more to the
east.
High: 17

West Coast

Sunny weather with southeasterly winds dying away around midday, light
winds in the afternoon perhaps tending onshore.
Highs: 19-22

Southland & Otago

Mostly sunny weather, light winds and afternoon sea breezes for coastal
areas. Any morning cloud about Otago clears.
Highs: 16-21
