Southerlies bring cloudy skies and a few drizzle patches to the east of the South Island today and mostly sunny weather out west, a few showers could be expect about Greymouth northwards however. The North Island is a similar picture, southerlies bring cloud and a few showers in the east, sunnier weather out west.

Auckland & Northland
Mostly sunny with east to southeast winds, light winds for Northland with afternoon sea breezes. Some cloud develops in the afternoon then there is the chance of a late afternoon / evening isolated shower.
Highs: 25-26

Waikato, Central North Island & Bay Of Plenty

Sunny areas and a few clouds with southeasterly breezes. Chance of a late
afternoon / evening isolated shower about the Waikato.
Highs: 22-27

Eastern North Island

Mostly cloudy with brisk south to southwesterly winds, the odd shower about
especially morning.
Highs: 19-20

Western North Island

Chance of an early shower then expect sunny spells, breezy southeasterly
winds. Taranaki is mostly sunny during the day, expect breezy southeasterlies
gusty about the southern coastline.
Highs: 20-23

Wellington

Mostly cloudy with brisk southerlies, a few afternoon sunny areas
possible.
High: 16

Nelson

Periods of cloud with light winds in the morning then afternoon
northerlies, sunny spells about at times.
Highs: 19-20

Marlborough

Mostly sunny with east to southeast winds. About the outer Sounds winds
will be strong. Cloud thicker about southern Marlborough.
Highs: 18-20

Canterbury

Mostly cloudy skies with southerly breezes, a few drizzle patches about
especially inland about the foothills. Dry spells possible at times more
frequent nearere the coast.
High: 15

West Coast

Mostly sunny weather with light winds, Greymouth northwards expect some
cloud however and occasional showers especially Westport northwards.
Highs: 20-22

Coastal Otago

Mostly cloudy with southerly winds.
High: 13

Central Otago

Any early cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, southeasterly winds. In the
east of the region expect more frequent cloud at times during the day.
Highs: 17-19

Southland

Mostly cloudy with southeasterly breezes.
Highs: 15-16
