> From the WeatherWatch archives

Most of the nation should see a dry day ahead and Saturday sport shouldn’t be affected by the weather however some cloud and a few showers could pop up in eastern parts and that’s mainly about Gisborne but low cloud and patchy drizzle could lurk further afield over eastern coastlines.

The jury is still in regards how much cloud cover there could be this morning over eastern parts of both islands but sunshine should still appear at some stage of the day.

There are still many parts of the country that are under clear skies first thing and temperatures are certainly crisp but by this afternoon conditions are expected to be fairly pleasant.

Winds are forecast to be mostly light and gentle for today and tomorrow and the first weekend of May is set to be a mostly settled one with daytime highs possibly peaking a fraction above normal for this time of year.
