A ridge brings mainly settled conditions across the country today although expect some cloud about Canterbury northwards in the east. A few light showers or drizzle patches Banks Peninsula northwards in the east too, mainly this morning. Out west conditions are mainly sunny.

Mostly sunny with southerly winds, breezy at times during the day especially afternoon.

Waikato & Central North Island
Mostly sunny with south to southwesterly winds, fresh at times during the
afternoon. About southern parts of the Central North Island (Central Plateau)
cloud may be a little more prominant with the chance of a brief spit of two in
the morning.

Eastern North Island
Mostly cloudy with the odd shower, brisk southwesterly winds.
Mainly sunny with gusty southeasterly winds, easing in the evening. Some
cloud about southern parts of the region with the chance of a morning
shower.

Western North Island
A cloudy morning with a few showers, sunny spells develop late afternoon.
Southerly winds.
Cloudy spells with brisk southerlies, the odd shower possible during the
day.
Sunny with light winds.
Mainly sunny with light winds, expect some cloud about southern Marlborough
during the day with southerlies.
Some morning cloud breaks away to mostly sunny weather in the afternoon, more so in South and Mid Canterbury. Cloud may take longer to break away from North Canterbury. Also there may be a light drizzle patch in the morning about Banks Peninsula northwards. Southwesterly breezes near the coast with light winds inland.
