A ridge over most of the country brings mainly settled weather today after a cool start, some high cloud across much of the South Island. A few morning showers clear the North Island’s east coast.

Mostly sunny with southeasterly winds, some cloud with the chance of a shower along the east coast clearing in the morning.

Eastern North Island
Mostly sunny about Napier and southwards with any early cloud clearing,
light northeasterlies. Further north expect a cloudy start with the chance of a
shower then clearing, sunny spells develop by midday, southeasterly winds.

Sunny with light winds, chance of some evening cloud.
Mostly sunny with northerly winds, some evening cloud with northerlies
becoming breezy.
Mainly sunny with light winds, a few areas of high cloud.

Mostly sunny with any early low cloud or fog breaking, light winds tend
northeast near the coast and northerly inland. A few areas of high cloud,
thickening overnight.
Sunny spells at first, cloud increases from afternoon. Light
northeasterlies. Drizzle about Fiordland from afternoon then rain later in the
evening.
