The North Island is mainly dry today with sunny areas about, especially in the east. North of Auckland the odd shower persists however. The South Island has rain in the west and mainly dry weather out east.
Northland
Cloudy periods with northeasterly winds, a few showers at times, mainly in the east.
Cloudy and sunny areas with northeasterly winds, odd shower possible mainly
north of the CBD.
Cloudy periods with light northeasterlies, the odd light shower from
evening.

Waikato & Central North Island
Cloudy spells with light northeasterlies, sunny breaks mainly in the
afternoon.
Highs: 13-17
Eastern North Island
Mostly sunny with some high cloud developing from afternoon, light winds
tend northwest.
High: 17-19
Western North Island
Sunny spells and increasing cloud with light northwesterlies, winds tend
more northeast about Taranaki.
Cloudy with occasional showers from later in the evening, breezy northerly
winds.
Cloudy with northerly winds, the odd shower now and then. Overnight rain
develops.
Thick high cloud with northwesterly winds, winds ease in the evening then
overnight rain moves in.
Cloudy periods with light winds tending southerly late afternoon, overnight
rain moves in about North Canterbury.
Cloudy with rain, heaviest in the morning then easing a little in the
afternoon. Northeasterly winds.
Morning cloud breaks to a few afternoon sunny spells although cloud and the
odd drizzle patch may remain south of Dunedin, light southwesterlies.
Cloudy periods with light winds, there may be a few afternoon sunny
spells.
A few morning showers clear then sunny spells increase, light
westerlies.
