A ridge of high pressure brings mostly sunny conditions across the South Island today after morning high cloud breaks away. For the North Island conditions are mainly sunny out west with some high cloud, cloudy skies in the east. A low pressure system east of Northland may deliver a few showers western Bay Of Plenty northwards, more so in the east.
Northland
Cloudy with occasional showers, southwesterlies freshen from morning. Showers clear in the evening with cloud breaking and southwesterlies
easing.
High cloud with south to southeasterly winds, a few showers possible in the
afternoon then clearing evening. Showers more likely in the east and north of
the city, drier conditions out west.

Bay Of Plenty, Waikato & Central North Island
Early cloud break to mostly sunny weather and high cloud, south to
southeasterly winds. About western Bay Of Plenty a few isolated showers may
develop late afternoon then clearing later in the evening.

Eastern North Island
Cloudy spells with southerly winds, a few morning showers clear Wairarapa
and Hawkes Bay although the odd one hanging about Gisborne.

Western North Island
Mostly sunny with some high cloud developing from afternoon,
southeasterlies.
Sunny spells and southerly winds, cloud thickens in the evening.
Mostly sunny with light winds, some evening cloud possible.
Sunny spells, east to southeasterly winds.
Morning cloud breaks to sunny spells, southwesterly winds ease dying out in
the evening.
Sunny with light winds, some evening cloud possible.

Morning cloud breaks to a mostly sunny day, westerlies ease in the
evening.
Morning cloud breaks to a mostly sunny day, light southwesterlies die out
in the evening.
Cloudy periods at first with any showers clearing, PM sunny spells break
